My first selling day
My parents encouraged me to do a Christmas fair, this was right at the beginning of RockFun, back in December 2019. I was very nervous and really didn’t know what to expect.
My first stall was at our local Primary School’s school Christmas fayre, it was also the school I attended when I was younger, the organisers where very helpful and I got a nice table by the window.
This is a picture of my brother and I, he helped me setup before going to play the raffle and do other activities.
I set up half the table with free rock painting activities, which turned out to be VERY popular, lots of children swarmed into the area and created some very unique designs, a little more Pollock than van Gogh, but the main thing is they had FUN and that’s what it’s all about.
I’m sure several parents also saw it as an opportunity to leave their kids for 5 minutes to get a chance to whizz around without their child in tow.
My mum helped me behind the stall, and after a quiet few hours we had a sudden rush. I didn’t make a fortune, but I did at least manage to pay for the stall hire.
